Banks Lane Infant and Nursery - End of Year Report Guidance

Picture
Attendance 2021
Attendance figures are based on children’s actual attendance on days that they were ‘expected’ to attend, excluding school closure (for those not in attendance), bubble closure and periods of self-isolation due to Covid-19. Local and national comparative information is not available.

Evidence shows that students of all abilities under-perform greatly as their attendance drops towards 90%. We are constantly striving to improve attendance.
Average attendance of 90% or below is a cause for concern. Attendance of between 90 and 95% is monitored within school.

Attainment in Reception

Schools are not expected to report assessment levels to the DfE this year. However, in order to support progress monitoring and to inform ‘next steps’, we have decided to produce end of year levels for children. These judgements will be broader than usual, bearing in mind that children may not have had the opportunity to demonstrate attainment over time or application of learning in a wide variety of contexts due to school closure.

Pupils recorded as ‘Working at the expected level’ have met the national age related expectations or ‘Early Learning Goals’.
  • Pupils recorded as ‘Working towards’ are likely to have met some but not all of the age related expectations. Please bear in mind that this could be due to gaps in learning as a result of the Covid context.
  • Pupils recorded as ‘Exceeding’ have met the national expectations and will be deepening and extending knowledge in a range of situations.

Further information on Early Learning Goals and age related expectations can be found on the school website in document produced by the DFE, What to Expect, When?
