Intention At Banks Lane Infant and Nursery School, we believe that the early foundations of education are imperative to all that follows in the lives of children in today’s world. Our EYFS Curriculum provides a solid base for children to develop as lifelong readers, change makers, risk takers, creators, be inquisitive, healthy and happy. Our intention is for all children to reach their full potential through strong pedagogy, relationships and environments and recognising the importance of parental partnerships between home and school. We celebrate and welcome differences amongst ourselves, our community and the world, highlighted through our four Learning Values. Children with particular needs, including SEND, are supported appropriately enabling them to succeed. Experiences & Opportunities (Cultural Capital)

Active Learning Children concentrate and keep on trying if they encounter difficulties and enjoy achievements.
Creating and Thinking Critically Children have and develop their own ideas, make links between ideas and develop strategies for doing things.
Our Topics and Themes
We are a ‘Quality Texts’ school where a wonderful book is selected to be at the heart of our activities and topics. We explore the themes through the use of the quality text. We use approaches such as DEAL (Drama Engagement Active Learning) and Tales Toolkit to engage and enthuse the children.
Activities, based upon our topic and theme, will be planned to address these 7 areas of learning in the EYFS Framework.
